My TESTIMONY

"When God who set me apart from birth and called me by His grace, was pleased.” (Galatian 1:15)
I was born in a Muslim family on April 1972 in Pakistan. When I was two years old, I came down with polio, which affected my left leg. In 1994, one of my Christian friends invited me to go to his church and requested his pastor to pray for my healing. He also told me about the miracles of Jesus and His power to heal even today. I had already read in the QURAN that JESUS was the prophet of miracles.
"Is it possible that such miracles can happen even today?" I asked my friend.
"YES! If you ask with a pure heart and with a pure spirit, then He answers your prayers,” my Christian friend replied. So I accepted his invitation.
On April 1994, for the first time, I attended a Christian prayer meeting. In that meeting, the minister prayed for my healing, but God did not answer his prayer. I said to my Christian friend that I want to read the Bible because I want to know about FAITH and why Christians pray to God.
My friend gave me a Bible Correspondence School's card. The earlier courses of the Correspondence School were about the prophets of the Old Testament. When I saw a beautiful detail and order in the stories of prophets, my interest increased in those courses.
When I read the story of JESUS CHRIST, He became my most favorite and ideal person. I saw that He has not any sword in
His hand, and His hands are free from blood of anyone. He wants to rule and reign in my heart with His love only. I want to know more about Jesus so I decided to visit a group doing evangelism among Muslims.
In the beginning, the members of the group helped me in my spiritual growth. On January 10, 1997, I was baptized and came into fellowship with a BRETHREN CHURCH. As a tree is known by its fruit, likewise, we Christians are recognized by our works. So my classmates and hostel mates easily came to know that I was a converted Christian and an apostate of Islam when I was in the university. They started to tease and force me to go back to Islam. This same kind of treatment I also had to face at home. I feared that my life was in danger. My body started to
suffer terribly from stress and worry. But God was faithful; He protected me from any big trouble and I finished my studies in 2005 successfully.
On September 2006 I was married to a Filipina but before long, my wife and I were faced with so many problems from the Muslim community because of my conversion. So, on July 2007, we left Pakistan for good and came to the Philippines.
One day one of my wife’s friends, Josephine Posecion, gave me the 27 Fundamental Beliefs of Seventh-Day Adventists. She also introduced me to her minister, Pastor Willie Paguntalan (adopted minister) who organized Bible studies for me. I came to know about the new truth of salvation. Salvation is a continuous process. I studied the New Testament again and found that God does not say that we are free to do whatever we want to do as we are under grace. In Roman 6:15 and John 14:15, God clearly says that we must have to keep His commandments. We Christians claim that now we are the chosen people of God. Exodus 31:16 says that the people of God have to keep God’s Sabbath holy throughout their generations.
After knowing these new truths, I started to go for Sabbath Service to a nearby SDA Church in Valladolid, Negros Occidental. The brethren of this church welcomed me. I showed my intention to the pastor that I want to be baptized again after having new truth in my life and want to serve my God with a new zeal. So on the 22nd of September 2007, I was baptized in the Valladolid SDA Church.
Now I am very happy to have the freedom that only Jesus Christ can give. I wish to share my newly found truth to my family and others to make them ready for Jesus’ coming.
